Jomo Cosmos team manager Bamuza Sono said Ezenkosi will have their sights on promotion back to the premier division when the National First Division (NFD) resumes on February 11.

The NFD has been on recess during the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations but Cosmos used the time to prepare the team for a restart of the season. They are currently placed fifth on the NFD table, 13 points behind leaders Thanda Royal Zulu. They resume the action with an away clash to Mthatha Bucks.

Sono, who made his Ezenkosi debut in 1997 against Swazilandís XI Men in Flight in Mbabane (Mandela Cup) aged 17, plans to follow in his fatherís footsteps by going into coaching sometime in the future.

It appears that Dr Jomo Sono has been grooming his son just for that role. Bamuza was appointed team manager soon after an injury enforced retirement. He made his last appearance for Cosmos on 2 February, 2016 against MP Black Aces at Olen Park as a second-half substitute.

He is already a Cosmos legend even at the age of 36. He made around 280 starting places for Cosmos and over 80 substitute appearances. The closest to that number is former team manager Andrew Rabutla with 229 starting places for the club.
