Chippa United and Golden Arrows played to a 2-2 draw in an Absa Premiership game at the Sisa Dukashe Stadium in East London on Friday night.
As a result the Chilli Boys remain eighth on the league standings, while Abafana Bes'thende also stay seventh on the table.
The first real chance of the game went to Chippa striker Lerato Manzini, who was played through, but he scuffed his shot wide 11 minutes into the game.
However, Manzini made amends five minutes later when Menzi Masuku brilliantly set him up, and the former scored to make it 1-0 to Chippa.
Arrows head coach Clinton Larsen made a tactical change two minutes after the half-hour mark when Nduduzo Sibiya replaced Nkanyiso Mngwengwe.
Andile Mbenyane nearly doubled the home side's lead in the 38th minute, but Arrows goalkeeper Nkosingiphile Gumede was well-positioned to deny him.
Abafana Bes'thende managed to contain the Chilli Boys until the match referee blew the halftime whistle and Chippa were leading 1-0 at halftime.
Arrows looked lively in the opening stages of the second-half and did level matters through hard-running striker Lerato Lamola.
The former Bloemfontein Celtic striker beat Chippa keeper Daniel Akpeyi with a with a cracker of a shot to make it 1-1 for the visitors in the 51st minute.
However, it was end to end stuff and Chippa striker Manzini grabbed his brace to restore the home side's lead two minutes later with a decent finish.
The momentum was now with the Chilli Boys. Buyani Sali tried to make it 3-1 to the home side in the 72nd minute, but his effort failed to hit the target.
However, lapse of concentration saw unmarked Lamola grab a late equalizer for visitors in the 84th minute to make it 2-2 - completing his brace in the process.
Despite late attacks from both teams, they were unable to find a late winner in the remaining minutes and they settled for a 2-2 stalemate.
