Aces host struggling Polokwane

Mpumalanga Black Aces will look to return to winning form in the Absa Premiership when they host Polokwane City at Mbombela Stadium on Sunday, kick-off at 15h00.

Aces suffered a second defeat from their last three league matches when they were beaten 1-0 away by Mamelodi Sundowns in midweek.

The Mpumalanga side has claimed 23 points from their 13 home matches so far this season.

Their remaining league opponents are Free State Stars (away) and University of Pretoria (home).

AmaZayoni are placed sixth on the Absa Premiership log with 40 points from 27 matches.

Polokwane saw their three-game unbeaten run come to an end as they were beaten 2-0 at home by Kaizer Chiefs in midweek.

The Limpopo side has claimed just four points from their 13 away matches so far this season.

Their remaining league opponents are Moroka Swallows (home) and SuperSport United (away).

Rise and Shine are placed 14th on the Absa Premiership log with 24 points from 27 matches.

Black Aces and Polokwane City have had just one previous top flight league meeting.

That encounter took place earlier this season in the Limpopo, with Rise and Shine claiming a 2-1 home victory.
