Masalesa returns to Dikwena

Platinum Stars are bringing back Lehlohonolo Masalesa to the Absa Premiership after signing him for the next three seasons.

The 25-year-old had been in Greece at Larissa for the last six months but did not have his contract renewed.

He returns home after captaining the South African team to fifth place at the Cosafa Castle Cup in the North West Province earlier in the month.

“We are very excited as a club to have landed his signature. It’s a big signing for us. We needed to replace that situation in the midfield so we think that Vieira with his experience will be able to just pluck into that position,” said Stars general manager Senzo Mazingiza.

“It was not an easy signing to do. It took a lot of convincing and lobbying. I am glad he is coming back home. Vieira was part of our team before going to Orlando Pirates. He comes back with a lot of experience. I am sure he will do well for us,” he added.

Masalesa last played in the Absa Premiership in the 2015-16 season for Pirates. He made his debut at Bidvest Wits in 2011.
