Baroka look to ambush Sundowns

Baroka FC will lock horns with Mamelodi Sundowns in an Absa Premiership match at the Peter Mokaba Stadium on Sunday.

Kick-off is at 3:00pm.

Bakgaga extended their unbeaten run to five games in the league when they drew 0-0 with Platinum Stars away in midweek.

The draw took Baroka to seventh place on the league standings with 33 points from 25 games. They are only a point behind sixth-placed Ca[pe Town City.

Meanwhile, Sundowns extended their unbeaten run to seven games in the league with a 2-0 win over Chippa United at home in midweek.

As a result, the Brazilians remained at the top of the league standings with 46 points from 24 games. They are only a point above second-placed Orlando Pirates.

"Well, it is going to be a very difficult match because we will be facing a formidable team in Mamelodi Sundowns. They are competing for the league title and they cannot afford to drop points at this stage of the season," he said.

Ayanda Dlamini: The goalkeeper has been in good form having kept three clean sheets in his last five league games. The 26-year-old will look to make it four clean sheets in six games against Sundowns.

Gift Motupa: The forward is in the race for this season's Absa Premiership Golden Boot having scored nine goals. The Orlando Pirates loanee has the ability to inspire Bakgaka to victory over the Brazilians.

Tiyani Mabunda: The influential midfielder walked away with the Man of the Match award after Sundowns' 2-0 win over Chippa United. The former Black Leopards star will be hoping to continue his good form against Baroka.
