Polokwane City look to end Pirates' unbeaten run

Polokwane City will lock horns with Orlando Pirates in an Absa Premiership match at the Peter Mokaba Stadium on Tuesday.

Kick-off is at 7:30 pm.

Rise and Shine extended their unbeaten run to seven games in the league when they beat Maritzburg 1-0 at home over a week ago.

The win took Polokwane to fourth place on the league standings and they are three points behind log leaders Bidvest Wits.

Meanwhile, Pirates are also undefeated in their last seven matches in the league having defeated Kaizer Chiefs 2-1 at home in their previous game in the competition over a week ago.

Bucs, who are coming off a win over AmaZulu FC in the Telkom Knockout Cup quarterfinals, are placed second on the league table - a point behind the leaders Wits.

"Nothing is easy, I think Pirates may be a better opponent like Maritzburg," he said.

"Ja, we need to enjoy the game and try to get a good result and try and make it difficult.

"Because they're the favourites in that game. I don't think they're happy to come here now."

Xola Mlambo: The midfield maestro has established himself as one of the top central midfielders in the country having netted against AmaZulu FC last weekend. Mlambo will be keen to play an important role in helping Pirates beat Polokwane.

Thembinkosi Lorch: The forward is enjoying his football at the moment having grabbed two goals during Bucs' win over AmaZulu. Lorch will be eager to continue his good form and help his side win in Polokwane.
