MDC champion to be crowned in Makhulong

The Makhulong Stadium in the heart of Tembisa will be the center of attention this weekend when the PSL together with MultiChoice crowns the 2018/19 champions of the MultiChoice Diski Challenge (PSL Reserve League) on Saturday 23 February 2019.

This one-day Festival promises to have a different touch. Unlike in the past, the season goes to the final weekend without a clear winner of the championship. At this stage last season, Lamontville Golden Arrows were already declared Diski Champions.

However, what we do know at this stage that on Saturday we will have a new winner of the MultiChoice Diski Challenge as none of the previous winners are in contention.

The 2018/19 Diski season has four title contenders who will all be playing in this festival to determine who will reign supreme: Bloemfontein Celtic, Polokwane City, SuperSport United and Cape Town City.

Bloemfontein Celtic has been in this situation before and lost it at the end. They are currently leading the pack with 29 points followed by Polokwane City who are on 28 points.

Cape Town City are third and SuperSport United on fourth position, both on 26 points.

The first match of the festival will be between SuperSport United and Free State, kick-off 09h00. In the second match of the day, Cape Town City will play Polokwane City at 11h00 in what might be an eliminator.

At 13h00, Kaizer Chiefs will host Bloemfontein Celtic as the last match of the season.

Entry is free and tickets will be issued to supporters at the stadium’s ticket office on Thursday and Friday from 13h00-18h00.
