Usuthu, Birds look to continue good run

AmaZulu and Moroka Swallows will both be chasing a third Absa Premiership win of the season when they meet at the Moses Mabhida Stadium on Saturday, kick-off at 18h00.

AmaZulu racked up a 2-1 win away to Ajax Cape Town in their last league outing.

The Durban side’s previous home match was a 2-1 loss at home to promoted Mpumalanga Black Aces.

Their next three league opponents are Bidvest Wits (away), SuperSport United (home) and Mamelodi Sundowns (away).

Usuthu are placed fourth on the Absa Premiership log with six points from three matches.

Swallows beat Black Aces 3-2 at home in their most recent league outing.

The Soweto side’s previous away match was a 1-1 draw at champions Kaizer Chiefs.

Their next three league opponents are SuperSport United (away), Maritzburg United (home) and Bloemfontein Celtic (away).

The Birds are placed third on the Absa Premiership table with seven points from three matches.

In head-to-head stats, AmaZulu and Swallows have met in 48 league matches since 1985.

The Birds have claimed 18 wins compared to 13 for Usuthu, while 17 matches have been drawn.

Last season Usuthu did a league ‘double’ over the Birds, winning 2-1 in both Durban and Soweto.
