More woes for AmaZulu in Bloemfontein
Bloemfontein Celtic has made AmaZulu’s chances of remaining in the Absa Premiership slimmer after beating them 3-0 in a league match on Sunday at the Free State Stadium.
Mbulelo Mabizela’s red card opened up a big gap in the AmaZulu set up as Lerato Lamola’s two goals and an own goal by Carlington Nyadombo saw Celtic claim the full three points.
The first half started on a high note and it was AmaZulu that showed more energy, giving the home side not much time to breath.
In the 15th minute former Kaizer Chiefs player Keegan Ritchie pulled the first shot for Celtic but it diverted wide.
A red card that Mbulelo Mabizela received in the 28th minute was the down fall for AmaZulu as Celtic took advantage of that and started attacking more.
The first break for Celtic came in the 31 minute when Lamola netted his first goal giving his team a 1-0 lead.
After the goal AmaZulu were put on the back foot and it was the home team that dominated till the end of the first half.
In the second half Celtic made its first change with Vuyani Ntanga replacing Musa Nyatama.
AmaZulu coach Steve Barker tried to do damage control for AmaZulu with Ayanda Dlamini making way for Roscoe Pietersen and Asive Langwe coming in for Willem Mwedihanga.
Just minutes after these substitutes Celtic scored its second goal courtesy of Nyadombo who headed Zuma’s cross into his own net taking Celtic to a 2-0 lead in the 47th minute.
As if that wasn’t enough Celtic got a penalty in the 57th minute which Lamola took comfortably taking his side to a 3-0 lead.
AmaZulu tried to catch up but it was not enough as Celtic took the three points.
