Magesi switch coaches

Magesi FC have become the second NFD club after Cape Town All Stars to change head coaches this season.

The NFD rookies have found the going tough in their first ever season in the First Division and currently prop up the standings with five points from their nine games, four points adrift of safety.

This has prompted the Limpopo club's management to turn to the experienced 67-year-old Zimbabwean Shepherd Murape for guidance, with Jackie Ledwaba parting ways after several years in charge.

"The club management has effectively appointed Shepherd Murape as its head coach," read a statement on the club's twitter account.

Said Magesi CEO John Mathibe on the appointment:

"We needed someone who has discipline. Coming from the ABC Motsepe League we have lots of young boys who are still ill-disciplined, but we've learnt our lesson and got the message that this is not a league for popeyes."
