The deadlock was finally broken with Jacky Motshegwa hit the back of the net with a well-taken shot to make it 1-0 to Celtic with eight minutes left.

However, AmaZulu striker Mhlengi Cele snatched a late equalizing goal in the 86th minute which ensured that the game ended in a 1-1 stalemate.
