TS Galaxy host Mamelodi Sundowns on Tuesday evening in what will be the 8th league meeting between the sides since the 2020-21 season.

The teams will meet for a 3rd time this season, having met in the Carling Knockout Cup Round of 16, they meet for the second time in the league this season.

In the seven past league encounters, Sundowns have been dominant winning on six occasions, while TS Galaxy have won once.

Mamelodi Sundowns have scored 14 goals in this fixture, while TS Galaxy have only found the net twice.

In 2021-22 in their first league meeting on the 19th of September 2021 Sundowns won 3-0 at home at home, Mosa Lebusa scored in the 57th minute, Peter Shalulile once again in the 58th minute and Thabiso Kutumela on 84 minutes scored for Sundowns.

Sundowns in 2021-22 won the second league clash also 3-0 on the road on the 2nd of March 2022, Khuliso Mudau in the 19th minute, Haashim Domingo in the 63rd minute, Peter Shalulile goal in the 79th minute, scoring for Siyabonga 4th successive league win over TS Galaxy.

TS Galaxy finally recorded a league victory over Mamelodi Sundowns last season (2022-23), the first clash on 10 August 2022, with Sundowns at home. A 34th minute goal from Lifa Hlongwane handing Galaxy a 1-0 win.

Sundowns won the second league meeting between the teams last season 2-1 away from home on the 24th of January 2023, Rushine De Reuck in the 11th minute and Peter Shalulile in the 64th minute scoring for Sundowns. Djakaridja Traore scored for TS Galaxy five minutes into second half stoppage time.

Sundowns have won all three of their previous away league games against TS Galaxy.

The sides met earlier this season in the League Cup Round of 16 on the 23rd October, Galaxy at home won 5-4 on penalties after the game ended 2-2 after extra time.

During their league cup clash Sphiwe Mahlangu on 12 minutes and Mlungisi Mbunjana in the 16th had Galaxy 2-0 up. Sundowns through Marcelo Allende in the 57th and Gaston Sirino in second half stoppage time drew level at 2-2, Galaxy prevailed 5-4 on penalties to progress to the quarterfinals.

In the league, the sides met on the 29th April 2024, with Sundowns at home who were 3-0 winners. Peter Shalulile scored a brace in the 26th and 35th minutes and Thembinkosi Lorch added a 3rd for Sundowns in the 64th minute.
