Sekhkhune United continued their perfect start to the 2025/26 Betway Premiership with a 3-0 thrashing of Orbit College at the Dobsonville Stadium on Tuesday evening.

Babina Noko made it three wins from as many matches thanks to goals from Vusumuzi Mncube (two) and Tshepo Mokoane, though it was Keletso Makgalwa who was the star of the show, providing a hat-trick of assists as his team rose to the top of the log on goal difference ahead of Kaizer Chiefs.

As for the Mswenko Boys, this was a second defeat in their opening three league matches and left them in 11th place on the log.

Sekhukhune dominated from the early stages, threatening a goal in the opening quarter hour via half-chances for Makgalwa and Bradley Grobler.

Makgalwa was the most prominent attacking force for the visitors and he nearly opened the scoring in the 37th minute, picking up a loose ball in the penalty area before slicing a shot which rebounded off the frame of the goal.

Babina Noko were finally rewarded with a goal in the 40th minute, as Makgalwa played an in-swinging cross from the left which picked out the late run of Vusumuzi Mncube, who easily finished with a controlled volley for 1-0.

Orbit did not learn their lesson from the concession of the first goal, as on the hour mark Sekhukhune doubled their advantage with a very similar effort: Makgalwa provided a cross from the left and this time Mncube, rather than volley past the goalkeeper’s right hand, glanced a header beyond his left for 2-0.

And Makgalwa made it a hat-trick of assists four minutes later, driving toward the by-line in the box before clipping a cross to the middle which was headed home for 3-0 by substitute Tshepo Mokoane, with one of his first touches after rising off the bench.

Sekhukhune eased off the throttle in the final quarter of the match but controlled proceedings to see out an impressive victory.

The teams will return to Premiership action next midweek, with Orbit away to Orlando Pirates on Tuesday 26 August, while Sekhukhune will host AmaZulu FC the following day.
