The DStv Diski Challenge was suspended on the 6th of January 2021 due to the second wave of COVID-19 and the adjusted Level 1 Regulations issued in terms of the Disaster Management Act. The PSL Executive Committee resolved to nullify the 2020/21 DStv Diski Challenge Competition. An agreement was reached between the PSL and the sponsors DStv to replace the 2020/21 DStv Diski Challenge Competition with a new competition, the DStv Diski Challenge Rewired
The DStv Diski Challenge Rewired will commence on the weekend of 10th April 2021 and its format will be as follows: The competition will comprise two streams of eight teams each. Stream 1 shall comprise the following teams: Amazulu FC, Cape Town City FC, Chippa United FC, Lamontville Golden Arrows FC, Maritzburg United FC, Stellenbosch FC, Supersport United FC, TS Galaxy FC. Stream 2 shall comprise the following teams: Baroka FC, Black Leopards FC, Bloemfontein Celtic FC, Kaizer Chiefs FC, Mamelodi Sundowns FC, Orlando Pirates FC, Swallows FC, Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila FC. The competition is divided into two phases, being the group phase and the knockout phase. The group phase will run on a one round basis, with three (3) points being allocated for a win, one (1) for a draw and none for a loss.
