Aubrey Ngoma and Judas Moseamedi will be the only players missing from the Cape Town City squad when they take on Polokwane City in the MTN8 quarterfinal on Saturday, coach Benni McCarthy has confirmed.

Ngoma had knee surgery in the off-season after being hurt while on international duty while Moseamedi should only start next month after suffering knee damage in training.

“We can consider ourselves fortunate that we have just these two injuries and that the rest of the players are all raring to go,” said coach Benni McCarthy.

Ngoma, 27, ruptured a ligament in training before the start of the Cosafa Castle Cup and since had surgery.

The 23-year-old Moseamedi caught his ankle in the turf at the club’s training ground and twisted his knee, damaging the ligaments.

He is expected to be back only next month, missing the MTN8 quarterfinal and at least three of Cape Town City’s opening matches of the new league season.
