Unbeaten Arrows add to TTM's woes

Golden Arrows kept their unbeaten record in the 2020-21 DStv Premiership season intact with a 1-0 win over 10-man Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila at the Princess Magogo Stadium in KwaMashu on Saturday.

Victory moved Abafana Bes’thende up to fourth on the league standings and onto 18 points, seven behind league leaders Mamelodi Sundowns. Defeat for TTM extended their winless run to seven matches as they fell down to 13th spot, a mere point above the relegation zone.

TTM played more than an hour of the game with a man less following Joseph Malongoane's sending off on the 30-minute mark for an ill-timed tackle on Pule Mmdodi.

The only goal of the game came with 18 minutes on the clock. Divine Lungu picked out Velemseni Ndwandwe who drove the ball home past Brighton Mhlongo in his 50th game for the KwaZulu-Natal club.

Vhadau Vha Damani were unlucky not to pull level with two minutes of regulation time remaining. Brandon Theron's free-kick cannoned off the woodwork, only for Ndabayithethwa Ndlondlo to hit the very same spot on the crossbar from the rebound. In the end Arrows had done just about enough to claim all three points.
