The defending champions remain unbeaten this season after nine matches as a result, and have still yet to concede a single goal. Goals from Themba Zwane, Peter Shalulile (two) and Pavol Safranko condemned a winless Gallants, who remain rooted to the bottom of the league standings, to another defeat.

Sundowns threatened early through Shalulile who had a goal disallowed in the 11th minute following a foul by Mosa Lebusa in the build-up.

This, though, didn't deter the rampant visitors who opened the scoring in the 24th minute. Zwane finished off a stunning team goal with a long range finish after being teed up by Shalulile.

Sundowns came close to doubling their lead just after the half-hour mark when Safranko found Neo Maema inside the area, but the midfielder's shot hit the woodwork instead of the back of the net.

Gallants finally registered a shot in anger on the hour mark. Sibusiso Kumalo's powerful drive forced Reyaad Pieterse into a smart save. The goalkeeper did well to keep his eyes on the swerving ball to thwart the hosts.

Sundowns doubled their lead in the 78th minute through Shalulile and took the game away from the home side with two more in the closing stages.

Safranko prodded home from close range with three minutes of regulation time remaining to put the game beyond any reasonable doubt, before Shalulile completed his brace to seal a comfortable win for the defending champions.
