Orlando Pirates face off against SuperSport United at the Old Peter Mokaba Stadium on Saturday, as they continue their quest for a third successive Nedbank Cup title.

Kick-off is at 3pm CAT.

CURRENT FORM

Orlando Pirates have stumbled and recovered in their last two Betway Premiership fixtures, losing 2-0 away from home to Marumo Gallants before returning to winning ways against Chippa United on Wednesday night.

They currently sit 16 points behind log leaders Mamelodi Sundowns, who dropped points against Golden Arrows in their last performances.

The Buccaneers are chasing the club’s second Nedbank Cup three-peat, having triumphed in the last two editions of the competition. Head coach José Riveiro’s side will be focussed on adding an 11th Nedbank Cup title to their collection.

Gavin Hunt’s SuperSport United sit just four points off the relegation zone in the Betway Premiership. They were held to a goalless draw at home by AmaZulu FC on Wednesday, giving them just two victories in the last seven outings in all competitions.

SuperSport reached this year’s Nedbank Cup quarterfinals by dispatching Magesi FC in the round of 32 before sneaking past Cape Town Spurs in extra time of their round of 16 fixture.

The last two Nedbank Cup meetings between SuperSport and Pirates both came in the final, which SuperSport won on both occasions.

Matsatsantsa will look to reverse the result of their MTN8 quarterfinal this season, where Pirates walked away 3-1 victors after extra time.

PLAYERS TO WATCH

On loan from Kaizer Chiefs, Christian Saile has enjoyed a good start at SuperSport. He has scored three times in seven games in his new colours, and will be looking to add a second Nedbank Cup goal to his tally for the season on Saturday.

Tshegofatso Mabasa has been leading the line effectively for Pirates this season. He has netted four times in two Nedbank Cup games this season, including a hattrick against Baroka FC in the round of 32. The Buccaneers striker will be prepared to pounce on any opportunity that comes his way.
