Mabusela: We need to believe in ourselves

Vincent Mabusela backs Black Leopards to cause an upset when his side host Orlando Pirates in the Telkom Knockout at the Peter Mokaba Stadium on Saturday evening.

This will be the second time the two sides meet in the first round of the TKO. Pirates emerged as winners of last season’s encounter which was played in Soweto less than a year ago.

As confident as he is, Mabusela went on to add that playing the Double Treble winners in Polokwane was not advantageous to them in anyway because of the massive following Bucs has across the country.

“When you playing against Orlando Pirates, know that you don’t have home ground advantage. They have supporters all over South Africa, so for us, it’s the same as playing them in Johannesburg. “

“We know that we expecting most of their supporters at the stadium but I believe that if we are ready, we can disappoint them and anything can happen from our side.”

“We can cause an upset on Saturday night. Both teams play in the PSL regardless of how big the other club is. It’s a PSL team vs. a PSL team, so it’s just a case of believing in ourselves.” He added

Lidoda Duvhu have had a fairly decent start to their Absa Premiership campaign, losing just one game out of seven matches.

The 30 year-old claims that the team benefited a lot from their remarkable CAF crusade adding that it put them in good stead for this season.

“Playing in the CAF campaign helped to boost our confidence. We played under difficult circumstances; I don’t think most players in South African players have never played in.”

“We glad that we have managed to carry the experiences gained into this season, hence we have been doing well in the league.” Said the staunch defender.

With the international break coming to an end, local teams are itching for action considering that they had the opportunity to make adjustments to areas that needed improvement.

Mabusela concluded by stating that this was not different from the Limpopo based side, as they used it to their benefit.

“We needed the international break because of we had injuries in the team. Some of the guys have recovered. We have used it effectively and come weekend, the team will be ready for the encounter.”
