Leopards looking for an upset over defending champions

Black Leopards will go in search of a second successive win in the Absa Premiership when they host Orlando Pirates at the Peter Mokaba Stadium on Wednesday, 21 November 2012.

Leopards broke an eight-game winless streak when they defeated Ajax Cape Town 1-0 away from home in their last league outing.

The Limpopo side has recorded one win, three draws and one loss from their five home league matches so far this season.

Lidoda Duvha are placed 10th on the Absa Premiership log with 12 points from 10 matches.

Pirates picked up a third win from their last four league matches when they defeated Free State Stars 1-0 at home in their last outing.

The Soweto side has a respectable away record so far this season, with three wins, one draw and one loss from five matches.

The Buccaneers are placed second on the Absa Premiership log with 20 points from 10 matches.

In head-to-head stats, Leopards and Pirates have met in 16 league matches since 2001/02.

Bucs have an excellent record against Lidoda Duvha, claiming 12 wins while suffering just the one defeat.

Leopards’ one and only win over Pirates came at home back in the 2002/03 season, a full decade ago.

Last season Bucs did a league ‘double’ over their Limpopo opponents, winning 2-0 in Polokwane and 1-0 in Soweto.

Kick-off is at 19h30.
