Downs, Leopards seek redemption

Mamelodi Sundowns will look to rise out of the danger zone at the bottom of the Absa Premiership when they host Black Leopards at Lucas Moripe Stadium on Sunday, 9 December 2012.

Sundowns were held to a 1-1 draw away to Free State Stars in midweek, extending their unbeaten run in the league to four games.

The Tshwane side has won just one of their six home matches so far this season and will be keen on improving that record.

The Brazilians are placed 15th on the Absa Premiership log with 11 points from 13 matches.

Leopards were also held to a draw in midweek, playing to a 1-1 stalemate at home to AmaZulu.

The Limpopo side has lost just once from six away matches so far this season.

Lidoda Duvha are placed ninth on the Absa Premiership log with 16 points from 13 matches.

In head-to-head stats, Sundowns and Leopards have met in 16 league matches since 2001/02.

The Brazilians have claimed nine wins to Lidoda Duvha’s five, and there have been just two draws.

‘Downs have an excellent home record against Leopards, with six wins from eight matches.

Last season the Tshwane team did a league ‘double’ over their Limpopo counterparts, winning 5-1 at home and 2-1 away.
