Leopards looking for maximum points against the Birds

Black Leopards will target three vital points in their battle against Absa Premiership relegation when they host Moroka Swallows at Peter Mokaba Stadium today, 2 April 2013, kick-off at 19h30.

Leopards have lost five of their last six league matches and were beaten 3-2 away to SuperSport United on Saturday.

The Limpopo side has won just two of 11 home matches this season, suffering five defeats in the process.

Lidoda Duvha are placed 14th on the Absa Premiership log with 20 points from 22 matches.

Swallows have won three of their last four league encounters, with their last outing being a 1-0 home victory over Free State Stars on Friday evening.

The Soweto side has claimed just three away wins so far this season, suffering six defeats in 11 matches on the road.

The Birds are placed ninth on the Absa Premiership log with 28 points from 22 matches.

In head-to-head stats, Leopards and Swallows have met in 17 league matches since 2001/02.

The Birds have traditionally dominated the fixture, claiming 10 wins compared to just one for Lidoda Duvha.

Leopards’ lone victory came at home back in 2006/07. They have lost four of the eight league matches in which they have hosted the Soweto team.

When the teams met earlier this season they played to a 2-2 draw in Soweto. Mashego scored twice for the Birds, while Nkambule and Bobe were on target for the Limpopo side.
