What are the teams saying
Cape Town City goalkeeper Shu-Aib Walters:
“Well, Platinum Stars lost their previous game and we have watch that match, and we know that they might come up with a different game plan more especially since they will be playing away,” he said.
“So, we are just focusing on ourselves. We want to continue with our good form. It’s important to win matches in the early stages of the season. It won’t be easy against Platinum Stars, but we will compete.”
Platinum Stars midfielder Robert Ng’ambi:
“Cape Town City are a good side and they have also made some good signings. We watched their game against Bidvest Wits. We know what to expect from them,” he said.
“They have not changed much. The core of the team remains the same. We are ready for them I think we have a good chance of getting a positive result against Cape Town City on Wednesday.”
Cape Town City key players
Ronald Putsche: The holding midfielder is now an influential for the Citizens just in front of their defence. The Austrian player is a strong tackler, a fine reader of the game and he's also able to distribute the ball very well.
Lebogang Manyama: The City captain seems to be continuing from where he left off last season for the Citizens. The forward provided an important assist against Bidvest Wits and he will look to maintain his good form against Platinum Stars.
Platinum Stars key players
Vuyo Mere: The Stars captain is improving with age as he has adapted very well in his new role as a holding midfielder. The 33-year-old defender-cum-midfielder will be hoping to lead his troops to victory over Cape Town City.
Benson Shilongo: The Namibia international caught the eye in his first season in the Absa Premiership last season - netting five goals in nine starts. The striker will be keen to score for Dikwena and help his side record its first league victory of the season.
